Special events of the day included skateboarding!
My mom and I took the boys to the 4th of July Parade in Waterford. It was pretty cool taking my boys to the same parade that I went to when I was their age.
Hot sun, blaring fire trucks, running out into the street to collect thrown candy... it was a little nostalgic.
While the boys were napping we took in some kayaking.
When the boys awoke the played and ate pool side. When they were finished, Samuel put his pet Roger in the pool for a swim. Joshua got a kick out of that.
When the lake had calmed down, we went out for a spin in the boat. We watched Samuel do some skiing.
Silas had never been on a boat and thoroughly enjoyed the breezy ride. He got sleepy so went to bed when we got back, but the night was far from over.
We sat fireside and make s'mores while trying to avoid the mosquitoes.
We had fun with sparklers, while we got a chance to watch a second night of fireworks.
