Happy October

October has been a fun and eventful month for the Schotteys!

Joshua went to his first pumpkin patch. In Florida, there are not many places to go to choose a pumpkin unless you'd like to pick one up from the grocery store or Walmart. We had an extra day off of school so Joshua and I went to choose a pumpkin.
Joshua is working on his shapes. The scarecrow had a triangle nose! "TRIANGLE!"
Carving the pumpkin was a struggle. When I told Joshua that we were going to cut it open, he tipped it over and tried to carry the pumpkin back in the house. "Too Heavy." After we got it open, Joshua was willing to use the spoon to check out some of the insides. I told him the top was the pumpkin's hat. And he put it on his head.
Michael and I have been watching the Sing-Off, Joshua wants to join in. He loves the acapella!
My assistant and I were THING 1 & 2 from The Cat in the Hat. It was excellent. At Christ the King we encouraged students to wear costumes from some of their favorite books for our fall festival.
Joshua and I were the most adorable pirates for trick-or-treating! Joshua is all about pirates these days. Michael and I chose not to let Joshua have a sword, however, he finds things around the house to use as swords... rubber spatula, lincoln logs, plastic spoons or forks... He sings "Yo ho ho, hee hee hee a pirate's life for me! Arrrgh!" So cute!
