SmART Camp: Explore the elements and principles of art by looking at diverse pieces to create similar artwork with a variety of methods and mediums.
I ran SmART camp the first week of summer. It was a wonderful opportunity. I loved it!
I chose artists to study and projects based on the artist. I started with a warm-up activity, followed by focus on the elements of art, and ended with an "I'm done" project. Here are some of the projects we did:
Piet Mondrain: primary color use |
Piet Mondrain: monochromatic work |
Kandinsky: oil pastel circles resist watercolor |
Kandinsky: circles, color change, balance |
Picasso: faces |
Gustav Klimt: chalk on black paper |
Jackson Pollock: splatter paint |
