Day 5

Wednesdays are going to be hard for us.
Wednesdays we are at school from 7:30a until 8pm. So I'll have to be creative.

Day 5 color a Christmas picture.

Day 4

Nativity Night

We put up the stone nativity that Michael and I got our first Christmas together.

We did a nativity project, which Joshua proudly hung on his wall and showed Silas.

Then we them watched The Nativity hosted by Charlton Heston.

Day 3

During the week it is going to be hard to keep up with my advent plans.

That being said, some of the activities will be simple. For example day 3: a Christmas lunch.

Day 2

Decorate our Christmas tree.

I put the tree up the tree and added lights while Joshua was sleeping so when he woke up from his nap he was ready to decorate.

It's fun to talk about the special memories that different ornaments bring back. A quick thanks to my mom for trying to connect the ornament for the year with something that happened during that year.

There was some clumping of ornaments, but for the most part, Joshua did a great job.

Joshua was insistent that he could/should put the star on top. I lifted him up so hr could. Then he said, "now let's put presents under it."
"who should we get presents for?"
"Jesus."
"why?"
"it's his happy birthday."

And there you have it.

Looking Festive

Pillow Talk

Dear Boys,
Tonight we climbed into Joshua's bed to do books, songs, and prayers early. I felt a little guilty. It was Saturday night we should be staying up enjoying our day off together, but being in bed early wasn't so bad after all.

It was silly, musical, giggle filled and wonderful. I can't wait to do it again!

Love you both!

Day 1

For advent I've filled in all the boxes of our advent tree with different activities we can do together instead of treats to eat.

For the first day today it said:
Chili cook-off and church decorating as a family.

In other preparations, we are taking another Christmas book out of the Christmas basket to read for bedtime.
