Don't Blink... You'll miss something
Monday I put Silas to bed at 8:30pm Michael told me he woke up at 8:30am and was awake for nearly 2 hours then went back to bed, where he stayed until i came home. I came home at 5:15pm and found Silas standing. He spent the whole day in his bed perfecting his new trick.
Today, swollen top gums two new teeth cut through and two on the verge.
Too much growing this week!

The Many Faces of Playing Catch
More Oranges!
Our friends from church invited us back to pick more oranges and grapefruits. Again it was an amazing time. Joshua enjoyed their beautiful yard and had commentary on everything!! After we left we purchased a citrus juicer. The juice was so sweet, almost too sweet.

"Those words rhyme..."
Joshua is really trying to understand rhyming words so he's been playing with word combinations and sounds the past few days. Tonight he decided he was going to find words that rhyme with stuck... truck, luck, muck... That's when mommy stepped in and suggested we try a different word. :)

I used to take pictures...
I used to take pictures.
I love taking pictures, but after having kids and full time teaching I stopped taking pictures like I used to. When we lived in New Ulm, I would take beautiful pictures, usually nature, but since Joshua, I felt like my pictures weren't as good. I have alway thought pictures I take of landscape have been better than pictures of people. Today I took my boys to the beach and brought my camera. It took me a while to get that side of my brain working, but once it did we were on a roll. I will admit to only keeping a handful of the 100+ photos that were taken, but today I took pictures, and it felt good.
So Vain?
I walked into my bedroom to find Joshua sitting on the floor with my phone. "I was taking pictures of my smile!"

Joshua talks
"Did you know that a nonagon has 9 sides? Nonagon is a funny word."
"Giraffes clean their nose with their tongues."
"Don't cry Silas. Your Joshua is right here. I will protect you."
After working on tracing shapes, "turn the page these squares are re-dic-lious!"

Silas Smiles
My dear boy has gotten his first cold. Pine pollen has taken over! Joshua got sick, I got sick, Silas got sick, and Michael was out of town. The boys and I struggled. We had fevers, sore throats, phlemy coughs, and crusty eyes. Silas' big bright eyes were glued shut in the mornings and my heart broke when he couldn't open them. I had to share some of his happy moments between his sickness.
Baking
I've been in the mood for some foods. Those who thoughts Michael was the only one who could use the kitchen, you were wrong. I make delicious foods as well!!

Citrus!
A couple at church told us they have citrus trees, but they don't eat the fruit. They welcomed us to come and pick oranges and grapefruits, and boy did we!
We picked apples every year when I was a kid. I was sad in the fall that my boys couldn't pick apples. I was very excited when we had a chance to pick oranges and grapefruits.
The smell was terrific a we picked until our bags were full!

On the Move
Silas is on the move. So far it hasn't been an issue, but I'm nervous about what the coming weeks will hold.
Joshua has mixed feelings on Silas being able to move around.
Joshua was sitting on the floor with a bowl of cereal and his juice when Silas army crawled up to him. Joshua ran away.
Later that day, Joshua asked me to move Silas next to the car slide so that they could play together. It was glorious.

Big Brother Moments
I did childcare at school on the 27 and 28, and the boys came with.
Joshua said Silas should go down the slide and that he would catch him. It was a cute brotherly moment.
