I'm disappointed that I haven't been faithful in posting. I'd like to get better not only so others can see what we're up to, but also because it's nice to have a little detail about some of the pictures for myself. That being said, I'm going to try to catch up on the past few months.
I'm not very savvy when it comes to blogging so my pictures go in reverse chronologically and I have to write about them that way instead of captions underneath them. (Maybe I can get Michael to help me with some formatting things)
February was the Superbowl! Joshua was being a crab because it was getting late, but the thing that would calm him down was if he was facing the tv. It was the funniest thing. We would turn him away and he would start to cry, but if he was watching football he was happy. It was probably the moving and the noise that he found so interesting, but Michael was beaming with pride that Joshua found football so interesting.
We sent out a little Valentine to family showing off Joshua's fun smile.
Joshua started showing an interest in books. I try to read to him at least 5 min everyday. I try to let him "read" some on his own too so that he can explore how books work, look at the words, see what they taste like, that sort of thing.
Near the end of the month Joshua made the transition from bassinet in mom and dad's room to crib in his own room. I choose to make the transfer on a weekend when I didn't have to work in case I missed out on sleep. It was a pretty smooth transition for Joshua, I think I was the one who struggled more. Those first couple of nights I would wake up just to listen to the monitor to see if I could hear him breathing, if I couldn't I would sneek over to his doorway and peer in to watch his chest rise and fall.
The top picture is one of my favorites! It was taken moments before Joshua rolled over for the first time. He and I were home alone and he looked at me like I was crazy as I jumped around celebrating and congratulated him on his accomplishment.
